The Senior Director of Academic Operations will provide strategic leadership on all matters related to the overall vision, direction, workflow and implementation of academic operations throughout the School. The Senior Director will support the Vice Dean in leading the Steinhardt School to international prominence in residential and online learning, ensuring that all courses and programs align with the School and University’s mission and provide high quality opportunities for students. S/he will oversee the design and creation of high quality learning management systems (LMS), synchronous communications tools, media asset creation, classroom technologies and integrated social networking tools. The Senior Director will align other administrative units to implement data collection and evaluation methods, including LMS data extraction. This position will oversee two project managers and will ensure the successful development, launch and strategic direction of Steinhardt’s online and low-residence academic programs, and lead vendor relations. The position will report up to Senior Leadership and provide information on project variances, risk mitigation, key performance indicators, production and budget schedules and staffing needs. The Senior Director will also provide vision and oversight of the School’s systems and protocols for student recruitment and admissions, working closely with other senior administrators responsible for enrollment, marketing and communications.

Min 8 years of work experience and prior experience in higher education administration with experience leading a registrar office. Experience working collaboratively with campus wide administrative staff, faculty and academic leaders. Demonstrated experience implementing technological solutions to improve efficiency in student services. Experience supervising staff and leading projects from initiation to completion while mitigating risks and maintaining proper budget forecasts.
