Position Summary

The Institute for the Study of the Ancient World is looking for a talented professional who has experience in financial and grant management. The right candidate has proven analytical and problem-solving skills and is detail-oriented with a proven track record of grant or financial management in a university environment. As primary financial manager on restricted funding, the candidate will manage sponsored research grants and contracts and financial activity, maintain comprehensive grant records and grant opportunities, process expenditures against budgets, generate reports, and work closely with faculty, supporting international fieldwork projects. The Grants and International Projects Manager primary working group will consist of the Director, the Associate Director for Administration, the Assistant Director, Budget & Financial Operations, and all Principal Investigators on funded projects, which includes faculty.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
Master's degree.

Required Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience in academic administration with experience in pre- and post-award grants management.

Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of grant budgeting, proposal creation and proven track record of grant or financial management in a university environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and writing skills. Proficiency with spreadsheet and database software. Detail-oriented. Ability to multitask and work under multiple deadlines.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with MS Office; work in a Mac environment helpful but not required. Familiarity with Cayuse helpful.
