Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Informatics, the Senior Clinical Applications Specialist will manage complex clinical application solutions to enable the delivery of safe, effective and high quality patient care. Collaborate with NYU Student Health Center Information Technology Services (SHC IT), clinical and vendor teams as well as Senior Staff in designing, implementing and maintaining clinical systems. Research, recommend and implement new applications and digital solutions to support the electronic outreach of the Student Health Center. Serve as a liaison to the user community by providing direction and education on clinical information technology initiatives. Identify and develop training programs for electronic health record initiatives. Research and recommend new applications and solutions for strategic and tactical clinical needs. Collaborate with Student Health Center partners on health information initiatives. Develop, execute, and analyze clinical reports.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or health informatics or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Health Informatics or equivalent

Required Experience:
5 years' related experience in clinical systems management

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated problem identification, resolution and analytical skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. A strong customer service focus with the ability to develop effective working relationships. Current knowledge of clinical practices and related information systems and computer applications and working knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL preferred). Ability to document business requirements, workflow, and quality assurance scenarios.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
