Position Summary

Under the direction of the Dean, serve as the chief financial and administrative officer of the Silver School of Social Work. Oversee the School’s financial planning and administrative operations. Serve as a member of the Dean's senior management team and participate in the development and implementation of short and long term planning activities. Work with the Dean to develop short and long term plans to meet the Silver School’s objectives in the areas of budget, finance, space, staffing and technology. Represent School’s financial and administrative issues to senior University officials. Serve as Silver School representative on NYU Finance Council and other standing Silver, ad hoc NYU groups, and committees. In conjunction with the University’s Facilities and Construction Management group, manage the School’s major facilities planning and renovation projects, develop strategies for facilities management, space allocation, and related services.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Master's degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field.

Preferred Education:
CPA, CFA or related professional certification.

Required Experience:
At least 7 years' relevant experience with strategic, financial and operational management of educational, not-for-profit or academic program or services. Must include experience managing budgets, staff, and operations.

Preferred Experience:
Experience at a large, decentralized college or university that has a global presence.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to manage both strategically and tactically to effect organizational goals and objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple and competing priorities. Ability to influence effectively and work with diverse constituencies to effect organizational change.
