Position Summary

Supports the department’s long-range and strategic goals by providing in-depth research and analysis on key topics and areas of departmental interest. Collaboratively works with department unit leaders to identify and track research needs, as well as independently identify departmental research needs. Serves as a thought partner for division leaders and assists with issue framing and data-driven research development. Proactively monitors/surveys research and data relevant to the department, which will inform the department’s strategic direction and resource allocation. Manages projects by applying professional principles, practices and techniques to lead project teams and control deliverable schedules. Assists with building project plans, including budgets and human resource plans. Produces reports, agendas, dashboards and minutes for project team meetings. Maintains project archives. Develops mitigation plans to present to leadership when project so calls. Stays current on the wide range of issues relevant to the department and those issues that affect the diverse communities the department serves. Enjoys diving into the substance of an issue/research topic.


Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education:
Masters Degree

Required Experience:
Four or more years of relevant project management experience including experience in project management; experience with project management software; demonstrated experience tracking and reporting on budgets.

Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated experience successfully managing operations and administrative projects involving large streams of data from multiple sources. Prior experience in analytic or managerial roles in operations or administration preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to think strategically to execute both short and long term planning; Ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple heterogeneous teams; Detail oriented with strong budget management skills; and Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
PMP certification or equivalent certification. Industry experience a plus.
