Position Summary

Formulate strategy and policy, and supervise the execution of the School’s electronic, print, media, and social networking communication services for all departments, programs and affiliated centers and institutes. Liaise with internal and external parties to advance school communications for key stakeholders, including philanthropic partners, national peers, alumni, University and community partners. Align the School's communications structure and strategy with that of the University. In conjunction with senior leadership, develop and determine the visual identity and branding for the school and centers/institutes, in addition to individual departments and programs. This position will work closely with the School’s admissions department to develop and advance communication strategy to market the school’s educational programs to prospective students.  Oversee design, strategy, and maintenance of an enterprise-class web site. Manage the communications budget, monitoring expenses and maximizing available resources. Write and edit copy.


Required Education

Bachelor's degree


Preferred Education

Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.


Required Experience

Minimum 7 years' relevant experience with working in higher education advancement or an equivalent combination of education and experience including experience in strategic communications and marketing, including online community management, experience on digital, social media and mobile platforms. Must have prior experience managing budgets and supervising staff.


Preferred Experience

Experience in an academic environment. Experience integrating multiple platforms (website, social, mobile, mail) into an overall outreach plan, CRM experience, and experience analyzing audience insights and incorporating them into a marketing plan.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidate should possess impeccable writing/editing ability, excellent verbal, presentation, and organization skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to generate creative ideas and work independently. Extensive knowledge of content management systems. Ability to develop and implement on-line marketing strategies. Ability to monitor, analyze, and report on web analytics. Thorough knowledge of current and emerging technologies.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of strategies to increase graduate student enrollment via on-line platforms and printed pieces.
