Position Summary

Arts and Science is seeking a talented Newtwork and Systems Administrator. This individual will manage development, maintenance, and support of networks and large file servers and provide high-level multi-platform computer support for the Center for Neural Science and the Department of Psychology.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
Degree in Computer Science.

Required Experience:
2 years' relevant experience or equivalent combination.

Preferred Experience:
Intensive network configuration and troubleshooting experience with MS Windows, Apple OSX and Unix/Linux Operating Systems on a large campus LAN. Experience supporting a multi-site Global WAN that uses both public and private connectivity.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of current hardware and operating systems. Excellent verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical information to an audience of varying technical proficiencies. Proficient with web page creation and editing. Working knowledge of networking (TCI/IP, OSI Model), various common network protocols (SMB, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, FTP, AFP) and network security (Firewalls, ACLs, LANs, VLANs, VPN). Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Suite.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Software: SPSS, SAS, R, MatLab, Mathematica, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of common web scripting languages.
