The position will partner with the Director of the NYU Department of Media Production on a wide array of video production needs. The department produces approximately 50 videos annually for schools and divisions throughout the NYU global network. The videos range in style from short social media pieces to long-form oral history interviews. The position will advise, consult, recommend and implement best practices for digital asset management of a large video archive that exists now on various drives. The incumbent will create a centralized digital asset management system that is easily searchable. The position would be responsible for creating a web-based screening room of final cuts for dozens of videos to be used by clients and colleagues. The position would also be responsible for managing the migration of digital and analogue assets for the NYU Oral History Project to the NYU University Archives. This is a one-year fixed term position.
5 years of video production experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comparable experience in developing and administering digital asset management system for video.
Video production and digital asset management experience in the higher education space.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical staff.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong understanding of and familiarity with digital asset management systems for both video and photography. Experience with Extensis Portfolio.
