Position Summary

NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity available to join a collaborative team of professionals as a Human Resources Manager.The HR Manager will work with the Executive Director and Associate Director of Human Resources in providing a variety of strategic services.  S/he will engage in full life cycle recruiting, perform compensation analysis, job evaluations, executive reporting and analysis, and oversee payroll systems and processes.   S/he will consult with and provide a range of services to internal clients including advising managers and employees on employee relations issues and interpreting and implementing federal and state employment laws, and university policies.  The selected candidate will also manage special projects and programs.

 

Qualifications

The selected candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant professional-level experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience with human resources management including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, training and development, budget administration, and staff supervision. Demonstrated organizational, negotiating, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required, along with excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing. Broad knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures (knowledge of current trends and evolving issues) also required. Ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures, to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, and to facilitate decisions making is essential.  Master's degree in Human Resources Management or related is preferred, as well as professional-level human resources experience in an academic related environment. Knowledge of HRIS/HRMS applications and online recruitment systems also preferred.
