Position Summary

Reporting to the Portfolio and Planning area of Teaching and Learning with Technology, the Online Program Development Specialist collaborates with academic and administrative units to develop and deploy technology enhanced strategies, approaches and programs such as fully online, hybrid and low-residency degree and non-degree offerings. The OPD Specialist researches, engages with potential internal and external partners, develops strategy briefing materials in order to advise Deans, Schools, Departments and Programs on internal and external service offerings which may help meet their technology enhanced education goals; and that will assist the school in engaging with University academic and administrative leaders necessary to see their program to fruition. These units include Office of the Provost, EVP, Enrollment Services, IT and Finance, Student Affairs and Governance Committees.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Masters

Preferred Education:
3-5 years in online program development or support. Doctoral level work and teaching experience.

Required Experience:
5-7 years demonstrated leadership in higher education or in support of technology for education. Experience in higher ed environment advising on online programs.

Preferred Experience:
Experience working both higher education and online program service provider.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to navigate complex systems and organizations, Strong communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated exposure to and interest in emerging trends in technology enhanced education.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of the OPM market and providers. Familiarity with the landscape of online education in higher education.
