Position Summary

Oversee the Division of Libraries Monographic Ordering and Receiving Unit's routine to moderately complex activities. Analyze, develop, implement, and document Unit's processes and workflows. Establish performance standards and priorities, review work for accuracy, troubleshoot and resolve problems. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance. Assist in implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting departmental metadata processes. Keep Unit staff informed of Unit, Departmental and Library wide activities. Manage staff's performance and conduct regular reviews, oversee staff development and establish working operational and developmental goals for individual staff. Serve as a resource for consortium libraries on acquisitions matters. In consultation with KARMS Department Heads, assists with the development and implementation of KARMS policies and procedures.


Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:
3 years' ordering or cataloging and bibliographic data experience in an academic library including staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience troubleshooting payments problems, metadata ingest and other vendor issues in a library’s technical services area.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with and supervise a large and diverse staff. Knowledge of standard office software (Word, Excel, Access).

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Ex Libris ILS systems Aleph and/or Alma. Working knowledge of XML, OCLC’s Connexion interface, and data visualization software such as Tableau.
