Position Summary

This position will support the entrepreneurship program, membership & partnerships, events, and overall organization administration at NYC Media Lab. The position exists to help maintain and grow the relationships NYC Media Lab has with its university, industry and government stakeholders, as well as to help streamline operational efficiency and to maintain policies and procedures of the Lab’s programs and events. The position will supervise and coordinate the work of temporary employees or contractors and graduate student assistants.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement. A minimum of 3 years of work experience

Evidence of strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize

Excellent phone and email etiquette

An understanding of the dynamics of the media and communications industries and enterprises generally

Good judgment in managing communications and relationships, from liaising with C-level executives to administrative staff; Outgoing personality, ability to work with multiple stakeholders from various backgrounds including government and academic institutions

Comfort with networking at events and in small meetings

Event planning, execution and management skills

Capability of working within a small and growth-oriented team- a ‘startup’ mentality

Ability to excel in an environment that receives a high volume of administrative tasks and inbound requests

Demonstrated understanding of media and tech companies, startup ecosystems, and entrepreneurship

Demonstrated excellent project management experience, possessing the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines

Demonstrated leadership for growing team and volunteers

Strong work ethic and a desire to build a strong network
