Position Summary

NYU Kimmel Events and Operations seeks a Multimedia Manager to join New York University's own in-house audio-visual department at the Kimmel Center for University Life. The successful candidate will have the ability to perform and lead technical operations in an events environment, as well as have the knowledge to support all facets of a modern facility. With over 4500+ events per year, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who has production management and audio-visual experience, yet still likes to work hands-on. Conversely, this is an excellent opportunity for an adept technician, who wants to take his or her management experience to the next level.

 

The focus of the role is to ensure the effective delivery of audio-visual services in support of NYU’s academic, student life, and administrative programs. The ideal candidate has a wide expanse of video and media experience and a strong understanding of workflow. Additionally, the optimal candidate would be comfortable overseeing a department ranging from high-level events to classroom space featuring a variety of digital media, and including student, freelance, and technical staff supervision.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience:
2 year's or more relevant supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience consulting on a variety of audio, visual, and multimedia equipment and use; troubleshooting and performing complex repairs; preparing display equipment for interface with current LAN systems; managing a budget; and managing office operations and supervising staff.

Preferred Experience:
Relative event management experience within a large university setting, conference center, hotel, or theater.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Ability to provide training and communicate technical information to non-technical users.
