Position Summary

Carry out administrative and operational functions of the Provost's office reception area. Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies, procedures and deadlines, etc. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Establish records and files and ensure that they are maintained and updated on an ongoing basis. Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to administrative matters for supervisor's review and approval. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Maintain calendars and schedule meetings and travel itineraries. Record expenditures and/or payments ensuring they are posted to proper accounts. Serve as liaison to University offices and external vendors with respect to office space and equipment.

Qualifications

Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:
3 years of office experience. Experience providing a high level of customer service. Must include experience with managing busy calendars.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in a team setting and proven success working for multiple managers is preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.
