NYU’s prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for an IT Technician in the Information Technology Department. The selected candidate will provide ongoing technical support to permanent information technology and media installations, perform skilled maintenance and extensive equipment repair, troubleshoot equipment problems in the field, operate a variety of specialized equipment, and consult with client employees on IT/media requirements and capabilities. S/he will also assist with training of student and/or casual employees and assist with training of junior technical support staff.
High School diploma or equivalent and some relevant technical training.
2 to 3 years of related experience. Experience providing customer support in an information technology or audio/visual environment.
Experience providing support in a lab or department within a university setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Understanding of computing procedures and standards, as well as desktop and network configurations. Ability to operate a wide variety of media equipment. Skilled at troubleshooting and performing moderately complex repairs.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
PC based multi-media applications for video/audio development.
