Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Advising and Academic Services, professional advisors, and academic heads and faculty to provide academic advising and learning enhancement activities for 1600+ students at the College of Nursing. Monitor students' compliance with academic requirements (Technical and Academic Standards) and progression. Modify student curricula for new and continuing students at the College of Nursing. Advocate on behalf of students with academic requirements and personal issues as well as those students who have registered disabilities. Manage student academic support programs and the College of Nursing peer advising/ mentoring programs; as well as advising caseloads, leave of absences and withdrawals.
Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, counseling, or closely related field.
Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, or closely related field strongly preferred.
3 or more years of progressively responsible experience with student advising in a professional school, including academic review and counseling, policy development, and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education experience. Experience with electronic databases.
Knowledge of nursing or health related professional curriculum.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with academic support service programs. Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Demonstrated excellent writing and technology skills.
