Position Summary

This position will manage and lead a team of project managers responsible for projects in the Teaching and Learning Portfolio. The role will need to partner closely with the functional business partners within IT and schools (as needed) to help define needs and objectives. It will assist in the long term strategic planning and implementation of new projects by identifying interdependencies, determining budget needs and ensuring proper staff allocation. The director oversee the creation of project plans throughout the project lifecycle and helps to capture, monitor, and/or mitigate risks and issues.


Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, or related field.

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
7-10 years of experience as a Project Manager on technology related projects. Experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Experience:
Technical background with real world experience in the software development lifecycle and a solid understanding of technical architecture concepts. Experience in the higher education sector.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with both technical and nontechnical staff. Project Management PMP certification or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with project tracking software such as Microsoft project or @Task.
