Position Summary

The Executive Director will establish and lead a dynamic new NYU Work Life Office and set the strategic direction for high-quality work life policies and programs to foster work-life integration that support faculty and employee recruitment, retention and engagement. The Work Life Office will implement and support programs that enable faculty and employees to achieve a seamless integration between their work and personal responsibilities. It will help manage work-place and life transitions throughout the employee life cycle, and to foster the well-being of the NYU community in their academic, professional, and personal pursuits. The Executive Director will lead effective communication and outreach strategies to reach target communities and lead efforts to conduct needs assessments to inform University decision-making. S/he will foster effective relationships with partner vendors and organizations to ensure quality, compliant, and cost-effective options for family and child care, housing and school search services, and overall health and financial wellness.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

Required Experience:
10+ years of progressively responsible experience with work-life programming and faculty engagement in a large university setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with and deep understanding of issues and challenges particular to university communities

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, influence, and consensus building skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
