  • Position Summary

    The HR Generalist will assist the HR Manager with administration and delivery of human resources services to the Division of Libraries. Lead recruitment activities (i.e.. sourcing candidates) for all positions with specific accountability for recruiting non-exempt and exempt positions & play an integral part in the on-boarding process for new employees. This role will act as the lead and support L&D activities such as the Learning & Development calendar scheduling for webinars/ training for the Division of Libraries and may facilitate division training initiatives. The incumbent will be the lead contact for maintaining and creating employee engagement activities and initiatives throughout the division of Libraries.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's Degree

    Preferred Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in HR related field

    Required Experience:
    3-5 years’ relevant experience in human resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include basic knowledge of recruitment and general office administration and have experience with HRIS and ATS systems.

    Preferred Experience:
    HR experience in a libraries or academic environment

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent organizational, interviewing, presentation and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of basic human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Familiarity with Workday or other HRIS cloud-based systems, Absorb (iLearn) or LMS system, iCIMS or other ATS system. General knowledge of office tools including one or more of the following: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, and Google Applications (Drive, Groups, Forms, Sheets, Docs, etc.) Reporting skills and data collection. Ability to oversee work processes and effectively communicate policies and procedures to a diverse population. Must possess an understanding of HR professional competencies (AHRM or HRCI).

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Working knowledge of iCIMS, Interfolio, and Workday
