    Manage multiple long and short-term construction projects for the University's Academic, Residential, and Administrative Units in development of and in accordance with the University's Strategic Planning Initiative and Space Planning and Design and Construction Guidelines.  


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree.


    Preferred Education:

    Engineering degree preferred.  Advanced degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or construction management. 

    Required Experience:

    5 years experience in project management. Experience with resource budget/financial management. Experience managing science and engineering construction projects, research laboratory renovations involving multiple clients and consultants and/or Electrical Engineer with electrical design, and/or electrical construction experience.

    Preferred Experience:
    5 years of combined mechanical and/or electrical engineering, mechanical and/or electrical design, and/or construction experience

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan and manage a variety of long term projects, control costs and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively utilizing problem solving and negotiating skills with senior management and design team. Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate policies and processes to a diverse population is required. Knowledge of NYC building, zoning and other regulatory codes.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Knowledge of construction and engineering design. New York State licensed engineer.
