Position Summary

Arts & Science is seeking a dynamic Department Administrator to join the Department of Psychology. This individual will supervise business and administrative operations for a large academic department; manage and supervise department’s program staff, establish and manage team workflows. Develop and implement office policies and procedures. Administer budgets; review expenditures on grants, and faculty research accounts for approval. Prepare annual and interim reports, analyze trends, and projections; resolve problems. Serve as liaison with Procurement, the Contracts Office, and Risk Management to facilitate the negotiation of independent contracts and vendor agreements. Implement and advise faculty and research personnel on policies. Oversee planning, organization, and facilitation of large-scale departmental meetings and events.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with staff supervision, budget administration, and special events planning and implementation.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
