Position Summary

Serves as an educational leader and the primary administrative architect for the faculty teaching and learning lifecycle (full-time and part-time). Develop and oversee the implementation of academic initiatives that support faculty teaching excellence at the College ensuring all actions are conducted with integrity, transparency, and collegiality. Act as a liaison between the administration and the academic body to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive faculty enrichment programs. Direct initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness, scholarly productivity, and professional growth. Supports the College’s mission to foster excellence in dental education, ensuring faculty are expertly equipped to meet evolving accreditation standards and modern teaching and learning best practices.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Doctoral Degree (PhD, EdD) in Education or Higher Education Administration

Required Experience:
10+ years in higher education and faculty educational development

Preferred Experience:
7+ years in educational development in the field of Dentistry.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and pedagogical methods. Proven leadership ability in a faculty setting and a deep understanding of educational development scholarship. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty and administrators with different disciplinary backgrounds.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Background in educational research and scholarly publication. Familiarity with the Commission on Dental Accreditation standards. Knowledge of assessment theories and strategies as well as the ways in which they are implemented with dental education.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $135,000.00 to USD $175,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
