Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling/Mental Health, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling/Mental Health, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Required Experience:
10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in higher education, student affairs, law enforcement, campus safety, private security, or risk management within a large, complex organization.
Preferred Experience:
15+ years years corporate experience in a Communications or Global Operations Center preferred with law enforcement or military Tactical Operations Center and/or Watch Center experience a value-added plus. Experience in effectively managing impactful emergencies on a university campus in an urban environment. Experience as a leader in a change management environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Exceptional proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire very large, diverse teams in a dynamic, high-pressure, and complex environment. Profound and extensive knowledge of federal and state safety laws, including Clery Act compliance, NY State regulations, HIPAA, FERPA Superior crisis management, strategic risk assessment, and advanced emergency response planning skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication, public speaking, and executive-level stakeholder engagement abilities, with a demonstrated capacity for transparent and empathetic communication. Advanced analytical skills to assess complex security data, identify trends, and drive data-informed operational performance improvements. Proficiency or knowledge base in modern security technology systems, including incident reporting platforms, advanced surveillance systems, integrated access control, emergency notification systems, and visitor management tools. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, belonging, and accessibility, with a track record of fostering a community-centric approach to safety. A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a NY driver license.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or another widely spoken language. Understanding of best practices in the threat assessment and behavioral intervention Experience working with international teams and navigating diverse regulatory environments.
