Position Summary

Support and collaborate with team members on usability research projects across all stages of a project’s life cycle, including formatting research scripts and protocols to meet usability research best practices, compiling data sets, conducting research sessions, and/or taking notes as needed, and performing research analysis. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand their study objectives, clarify their participant requirements, and decide research participant sourcing methods. Maintain team resources, including our training materials, templates for project deliverables, and other research process documentation, as well as organizing and maintaining shared team drives and folders. Develop documentation and guidance to support departmental efficiencies and emerging tools, including the responsible use of AI in research workflows. Develop client and participant communications and relationships. Develop assessments to screen research candidates, collaborate on recruitment strategy planning, and perform key tasks to execute that plan. Track and update participant recruitment totals and demographic information, including managing our participant database. Coordinate research participant incentives with project stakeholders, including processing payments through university systems, creating payment paperwork in accordance with university protocols, and ensuring timely disbursements. Serve as project administrator; communicate with stakeholders to move projects forward, and keep the team updated on progress and any bottlenecks/roadblocks. Maintain Usability Lab research technology toolkit and subscriptions; coordinate with vendors to assess the purchasing of new research platforms/tools. Assist with documenting and tracking product improvements and impact from our research.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years of related of professional work experience, or the equivalent education and experience. Must include experience coordinating multiple fast-moving projects of varying levels of complexity concurrently, working across diverse time zones and cultures.

Preferred Experience:
1+ years Work experience in a research setting supporting in-person data collection or customer-facing work in the tech industry

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent project management and process mapping skills. Strong organizational skills, including ability to plan, organize, and document project plans appropriately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to follow up with participants and stakeholders in a timely and thorough manner.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with the UX product development process and UX research methods, including participant recruitment tactics and strategies, research methodologies, tools, and applications; Some knowledge of user experience design trends and best practices. Well versed in survey software, such as Qualtrics; experience with relevant project management tools, such as Monday.com.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
