Position Summary

The Compliance Administrator collaborates with compliance offices across NYU’s global network of campuses to align processes and ensure consistency across programs. Serving as a key administrative resource, this role provides guidance to faculty, staff, and researchers on routine conflict of interest (COI) disclosure questions and related matters. The Compliance Administrator reviews COI disclosures within the Cayuse Outside Interests module to ensure compliance with research security disclosure and reporting requirements and escalates potential areas of concern to Office of Conflict of Interest leadership. This position identifies and documents emerging risks to support adherence to federal, state, and university-mandated laws, regulations, and policies. In addition, the Compliance Administrator performs compliance and regulatory activities in support of NYU’s Office of Research Data Management and Security, helping to ensure full compliance with applicable federal regulations and institutional policies surrounding the areas of research security, export control, and research data management.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Required Experience:
3+ years Relevant experience in either higher education, research administration, or research compliance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years Direct experience in research administration, research compliance, conflict of interest management, and/or research security programs.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Skilled at providing administrative support for research initiatives, ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and organized. Ability to manage relationships with investigators, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. Ability to build collaborative relationships across various organizational levels, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adherence to data privacy standards and legal regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to address sensitive topics with empathy and inclusivity. Ability to maintain and manage regulatory documentation and databases. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and grants management systems (e.g., Cayuse) is a plus. High energy, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for advancing NYU’s mission in research and education.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Basic understanding of current federal regulations related to research compliance, research security, and conflict of interest. Familiarity with internal conflict of interest, research compliance, and research security processes at the institutional level. Experience in training or communicating regulations to investigators, with a focus on clarity and accessibility. Ability to demonstrate some regulatory analysis, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,670.00 to USD $94,930.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
