Position Summary

The Senior Data Governance Analyst facilitates this work and plays a key role in implementing data governance frameworks within NYU’s data domains, business processes, and metadata management systemCollibra Data Governance), while working with various stakeholders across the organization. Assist data governance community members with entry, maintenance, and organization of metadata in the centrally managed Data Governance platform. Ensure policy, standards, and best practices are being followed and direct users to educational resources where applicable. Serve as a subject matter expert for data governance-related functions including the data policies, data compliance regulations, and data quality rules and metrics. Identify data quality issues and trends, oversee remediation plans, help implement data controls, and manage data quality remediation strategies. Build process maps to document workflows and data lineage. Communicate content effectively to both operational and technical stakeholders. Perform project management functions for work with NYU clients, including project planning using PM tools, overseeing project meeting logistics, and providing status updates to clients and sponsors.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Data Management or equivalent discipline

Required Experience:
3+ years of related experience in data governance/data management/quality assurance

Preferred Experience:
2+ years related experience in higher education and Data Governance.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with Google Workspace and ad hoc data management tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to present complex information to key stakeholders and leadership in a non-technical manner. Strong initiative, attention to detail, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Collibra Data Governance Center or similar Data Management applications.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
