Perform technical and administrative supervision for maintenance and operation of HVAC Shop including BMS and pneumatically controlled systems within HVAC equipment and Lighting Control systems. Supervise services provided by HVAC Mechanics and related trades. Supervise and coordinate preventive maintenance and repair services provided by mechanical contractors. Work closely with Management of SETS and Facilities to establish priorities and service levels within budget.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree Some college education in engineering and/or a completion certificate from a recognized trade school; familiarity with PC.
Required Experience:
5+ years experience with installation, maintenance, and operation of large commercial HVAC plants/systems, DDC control systems, and pneumatic control systems. 3 years progressively responsible supervisory experience. Experience in commissioning and/or energy management
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Supervisory experience in operation of HVAC systems in an educational and/or hospital environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong knowledge in installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems; strong knowledge/skills in use of test and calibration instrumentation; intermediate knowledge/skills in electrical and plumbing systems; working knowledge/skills of refrigeration cycle, common parts, pneumatic/electric/electronic control systems; basic knowledge of safety standards/regulation, current CFC regulation, physics and math; ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and nameplates; good communication skills; ability to provide and follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge/skills in DDC programming.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,796.00 to USD $130,796.00.
