Position Summary

The Title IX Program Manager facilitates logistical and administrative aspects of the University’s Title IX process for responding to and resolving formal complaints. Lead pre-hearing procedural aspects of the process, including the review of evidence and results of investigations for cases involving alleged violations of the University Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, and Stalking Policy, as well as post hearing aspects of the process (e.g. appeals). Guide and educate parties and witnesses participating in the processes. Identify external vendors, clarify scope of work and terms, negotiate fees, and manage contracts for adjudication services. Oversee the University’s database system to ensure accurate tracking of case reports, their outcomes, and related data, including policy interpretations reflected in adjudication decisions. Assist in providing policy interpretation and recommendations to University administrators on matters involving cases of sexual and relationship misconduct. Facilitate alternative resolutions of complaints, including administrative resolutions. Facilitate pregnancy-related accommodation requests and supportive measures.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years working in a legal/quasi-legal environment or with a campus Title IX program

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Paralegal Certificate or equivalent

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Outstanding writing skills. Ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion, as well as maintain integrity and confidences. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail; proven ability to communicate with senior level administrators in colleges/schools and other administrative units of the University. Ability to develop and coordinate programs for students and administrators. Ability to provide service to both complainants/victims and accused/respondents in a neutral manner. Completion of an established Title IX training course and certification by the Student Conduct Institute (SCI) or equivalent program in compliance with federal and New York State law (a minimum of eight hours of training and recertification is required annually and may be completed upon hire).

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,300.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
