Position Summary

Manage and develop staff reporting to faculty members; hire, train, and determine staffing needs. Orient new faculty support staff to Law School and University facilities. Interpret and communicate policies and procedures to faculty, administrators and staff. Oversee space arrangements and coordinate the set up of equipment, furniture, supplies, etc. for staff. Supervise ordering, delivery and installation of all supplies, furnishings and electronics. Resolve problems concerning distribution and use of equipment and furnishings. Oversee the ordering and arrange training on the telephone system. Assist with problem-solving to address a variety of workplace issues. Manage faculty support staff budgets, and assist Senior Director with Law School Budgets.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:
3 years' increasingly responsible relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience managing office operations and a large, diverse staff, administering budgets, providing advisement, and planning and implementing special projects and activities.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic organization working with faculty and unionized staff.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret academic policies and procedures, to train and motivate staff, and to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
