Arts & Science is seeking a talented Graduate Program Administrator to join the Department of Physics. This individual will provide guidance to the department's graduate students and faculty with regards to administrative matters and non- academic advising. Advise prospective and current graduate students of requirements, courses, policies and procedures. Assess student academic progress and identify eligibility for special academic support. Oversee administrative process for the departmental graduate admissions process, registration, graduate course scheduling, record keeping/ database management, and graduation. Assign graduate students and adjunct hires to teaching assignments according to the policies of the Department and the Graduate School of Arts & Science (GSAS). Maintain website sections that pertain to the graduate program. Coordinate events related to the graduate program including graduate student recruitment, orientation, seminars and job fairs.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience, including advising on program or service options, planning various activities and events, and staff supervision.
Preferred Experience:
Advising students at college or university level.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Scheduling and tracking experience.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000 to USD $75,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
