University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Gift Agreement Manager serves as the primary point of contact for receiving, evaluating, and advising on gift agreements in support of NYU. Advise fundraising staff on gift agreement requirements and ensure compliance with NYU's Gift Acceptance Policy, CASE standards, and IRS guidelines. Make accurate decisions about accepting, processing, and tracking of new gift agreements to the University. Provide timely feedback to all NYU partners on submitted gift agreements. Communicate updates regarding gift processing and procedures to staff. Analyze, audit, and verify the data of the gift agreement as it is uploaded into the system. Partner with Advancement Services leadership to address and remediate any issues with submitted agreements. Analyze the grants processed in the system, and ensure that those grants which also qualify as charitable are properly recorded into the development system as it relates to IRS guidelines and NYU's Gift Acceptance Policy. Prepare scheduled and special reports, studies, and analysis; recommend approval or rejection of deviations from contract specifications.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years experience in Development, Gift Processing or Advancement Services, or a combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience drafting, reviewing, or processing donor pledge agreements in a University or non-profit setting
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of CASE and IRS guidelines for qualifying and accepting tax-deductible contributions, specifically for higher education institutions
Knowledge of donor funds including endowed and expendable accounts, pledges, and planned gifts
Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities, ability to interpret and evaluate policy and procedural requirements; excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Must possess the ability to think strategically, make independent decisions, and manage time effectively
Thorough knowledge of development databases
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of NYU’s policies and procedures and a working knowledge of grants and grant systems
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
