NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director. Reporting jointly to Doctoral Programs and the Office of Faculty Affairs, the Associate Director will collaborate closely with both departments to advance the mission of both groups within the Stern School of Business and the University. Oversee milestone tracking, course scheduling, and registration for Doctoral Programs, manage the administrative process for clinical reappointments, coordinate student housing for PhD students, and manage short term rental apartments for the Office of Faculty Affairs. Facilitate diversity programming initiatives and evaluate the effectiveness of diversity programming efforts, making recommendations for improvement. Manage the administration of Stern’s research scientists and support grant administration for faculty. Establish office procedures, including deadlines, collaborate with leadership to determine short-term and long-term goals and priorities for Doctoral Programs and the Office of Faculty Affairs, and supervise staff.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field, or an MBA is preferred) and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in higher education administration, program management, student affairs, faculty affairs, or a related field, with a strong background in leadership and program management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience planning, coordinating, and implementing program objectives and evaluating performance metrics. 3+ years experience working with students and/or faculty, as well as experience in property management, event coordination, and diversity programming is preferred.
Proven ability to manage administrative functions and projects with minimal supervision, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing deadlines, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and adapt to dynamic operational needs are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, database management (e.g. PeopleSoft), CRM software (e.g. Salesforce), and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SPSS) is also required. Strong data management and reporting skills are preferred.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $92,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
