Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Required Experience:
2+ years Experience in higher education, research administration, and/or research compliance including conflict of interest.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations regarding research compliance and conflicts of interest preferable in a large research institution.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Understanding of current federal regulations related to research compliance, including conflict of interest. • Familiarity with internal conflict of interest and research compliance processes at the institutional level. • Ability to interpret and apply policies, and effectively communicate them to the COI Manager and research community. • Experience in training or communicating regulations to investigators, with a focus on clarity and accessibility. • Skilled at providing administrative support for research initiatives, ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and organized. • Ability to manage relationships with investigators, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. • Strong ability to build collaborative relationships across various organizational levels, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. • Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adherence to data privacy standards and legal regulations. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to address sensitive topics with empathy and inclusivity. • Ability to maintain and manage regulatory documentation and databases, with knowledge of systems like CAYUSE a plus. • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and tact in all interactions. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with grants management systems (e.g., CAYUSE) is a plus. • Willingness to participate in special projects and task forces as needed. • High energy, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for advancing NYU’s mission in research and education. • Must possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of the research compliance regulatory landscape.

Ability to demonstrate complex regulatory analysis, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret scientific and/or regulatory jargon to ensure grants congruency and regulatory compliance.
