Position Summary

Provide oral surgical assistance to dental residents and students. Assist in the administration of IV sedation and
patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing
medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and
storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic
cashier. May assist with training and reviewing work of student and/or casual employees.

 

Please note "IV Sedation" experience is required for this role

Qualifications

Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:
Certification as a Dental Assistant.

Required Experience:
Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program or 1-2 years of related experience.

Preferred Experience:
Surgical experience strongly preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Korean, Chinese).

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $34.829. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
