Position Summary

Provide academic advisement to current students in the undergraduate program of Applied Psychology. Interpret applicable University policies and procedures, program requirements, acceptable electives, and alternative/ substitute courses. Plan and implement recruitment and orientation activities. Facilitate seminars and events that enhance the academic experience and professional development of undergraduate students. Interface with appropriate University offices and departments to expedite processing of online graduation tracking, transfer credit evaluations and reviews, program development and substitutions. Respond to inquiries concerning the School, department, and program offerings.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs, Counseling or related field.

Required Experience:
2+ years of related administrative experience, with at least 3 years working in providing advisement and counseling at the college or university level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for handling student data and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,990.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
