Position Summary

The Arts & Science Office of Research is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to join their team. The Grants Manager oversees pre-award activities for large interdisciplinary grants supporting faculty in the Divisions of Science, Social Science, and the Humanities including the newly established NYU Integrated Science Institute. Work directly with department administrators across Arts & Science, providing further support, guidance, and collaboration with dedicated grants administrators in the departments in the Division of Science. As a member of the Arts & Science Office of Research team (ASOR), facilitate and expedite the grant and contract application process, while working closely with faculty in developing and executing grant proposals and ensuring compliance. Work directly with PIs on building out complex multiyear budgets, subawards, and financial trajectories for project expenditures. Responsible for managing pre-award workflow for the increased volume of grant submissions that ASOR manages.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree and/or Research Administrator (C.R.A.) Certification

Required Experience:
5+ years experience in a pre-award and/or sponsored research administration in a university setting, with a strong commitment to customer service. Experience with budget development.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, follow through, confidence, and flexibility required. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Excellent proofreading skills. Demonstrated time-management and detail-oriented skills. Demonstrated ability to interpret federal regulations, procedures and/or compliance standards. Knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting sponsored projects (e.g., Uniform Guidance) including research, technical assistance, professional development, consulting, etc.; the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders including faculty, students, and department, school and university administrators. Good working knowledge of OMB circulars. Proficiency with MS Excel and Word. Must be able to work with and lead large groups.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Arts & Science research portfolios.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
