Position Summary

Arts & Science is seeking an experienced Laboratory Facilities Manager to join Biology. The Manager develops and manages facilities operations; develops policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency. Direct receiving room and stockroom operations, activities and staff. Determine need for upgrade or replacement of equipment and make recommendations based on current research methods. Direct departmental safety program; ensure adherence to government regulations.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in laboratory technology or a science related field

Required Experience:
5+ years research-assistance related experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience with technical facility management and staff supervision.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, and written and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals at all levels. Knowledge of advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Will be required to obtain a Certificate of Fitness. 24/7 availability to manage emergency calls and on-site emergency situations.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of building utilities including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems preferred.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $73,200.00 to USD $85,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
