Arts & Science is seeking a talented Graphic Design and Communications Specialist to join Arts & Science Communications. This individual will translate complex messaging into creative, engaging, audience-focused, on-brand designs across numerous digital and print platforms for NYU Arts & Science departments and faculty, the Graduate School of Arts & Science, the College of Arts & Science and Liberal Studies. Promote the NYU Arts & Science brand and its distinct entities in design, video, and photography for email, social media, merchandise, presentations, newsletters, posters, signage, recruitment advertising, websites, etc. with an understanding of visual design trends and best practices.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design/Digital Media and Design
Required Experience:
3+ years Relevant experience in graphic design, art direction and creative communications strategy. Experience working in an advertising agency, internal communications department, or design studio with multiple clients and a variety of design projects.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience with Canva. Exceptional composition, design, typography, photography, and illustration skills. Excellent command of English grammar and syntax. Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to simplify, clarify, and illustrate complex concepts and thrive in a busy, multifaceted environment.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Video production, editing and animation.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
