The Senior Business Analyst, Process Improvement plays a pivotal role in the advancement and improvement of the University's Finance and Payroll business processes. This person in this role works collaboratively with central and departmental administrative users to analyze business requirements and identify solutions that measurably serve to maximize resources (people, costs, time) and improve the client experience. The Senior Business Analyst maintains working functional knowledge of business needs and practices for the Finance and Payroll business processes, serving as process consultant and change agent. The individual in this position is responsible for conducting complex analyses and lead cross-functional teams using appropriate process improvement methodologies that further organizational and strategic goals, identifying and analyzing current-state processes and issues, and recommending and implementing measurable process improvements.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in business, operations management, or related field.
Required Experience:
7+ years of relevant business process improvement experience in HR, Payroll and Financial Operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven knowledge and application of process excellence, lean six sigma methodology, business analysis, reengineering, and process modeling. Must be a hands-on resource who has demonstrated the ability to (1) apply lean six sigma methodology; (2) analyze and document processes using tools like process mapping, in-process metrics and other process measurement techniques; (3) use these results to recommend process improvements and operations metrics dashboard based on the sponsor's goals and objectives; (4) work with the project sponsor, champion and team members to identify and implement improvements; (5) gather requirement and run Use Acceptance Testing; and (6) deliver results handling multiple priorities. Strong collaborative, change management, coaching and analytical skills. Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively handle multiple projects. Ability to develop effective business relationships and build consensus. Strong team player. Excellent writing and communication skills. Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Visio or other business process modeling and analytical tools.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience working in Higher Education or a complex global organization. Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification strongly recommended.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
