Provide technical support for assigned areas of operation in the Department of Film & Television, Tisch School of the Arts. Operate a wide variety of production or stage equipment, including specialized equipment that requires significant training. Operate, install, and build stager sets and set components, including cameras, light sources, and audio sound equipment. Instruct students and faculty on operating equipment; conduct individual and group training workshops; and demonstrate the use of equipment. Advise students and faculty on equipment that would best meet their technical needs. Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on complex equipment and parts. Work in Brooklyn, Industry City, and Manhattan.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent and some relevant technical training.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree or relevant certification.
Required Experience:
2+ years of related experience. Experience providing customer support in a studio and/or production-related environment.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in a studio or film production or equipment rental facility.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to operate a wide variety of production equipment. Proficiency with basic hand tools, circular saw. Skilled at troubleshooting and performing moderately complex repairs. Ability to train others in equipment use.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of 16mm/35mm cameras, digital video cameras, power supplies, lights meters, microphones and sound systems.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.90. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
