Position Summary

Develop and manage the field placement programs in dance education, educational theatre and music education in the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, and the program in visual arts education in the Department of Art and Art Professions. The Field Administrator will cultivate relationships with local area educational organizations to identify and assess potential field placements for NYU undergraduate and graduate students, and will monitor the progress of student teachers; communicate with supervising faculty; advise on options and alternatives; and form collaborative relationships with workshops and tutoring programs. While essentially a designated position in arts education, it is expected that the Field Administrator will work in other areas as part of the team in the Office of School and Community Partnerships, housed within the Department of Teaching and Learning, as determined by the Director and the Chairs in the Department.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Master's degree in education, arts, or non profit management preferred

Required Experience:
3+ years minimum three years of related experience, including cultivating relationships with local area educational organizations, advising students, managing and placing students in fieldwork assignments, etc.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills. Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures and communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Familiarity with Google Suite or similar, spreadsheet, and database software.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $73,363.50 to USD $89,666.50. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
