The Associate Director, Employer Engagement will develop employer engagement strategy, manage on-campus recruiting program and employer-related activities tailored for the needs and goals of STEM students, manage employer engagement budget. Cultivate and manage industry relationships and develop systems and policies around employer engagement and recruiting. Serve as the main point of contact for all industry and employer partners as well as institutional collaborators related to industry connections. Provide career coaching to Tandon students (undergraduate and graduate) and recent alumni. Serve as proxy to Career Hub Director if Director is unavailable. Play key role in assisting with Career Hub strategy and oversight. Collaborate with institutional partners at Tandon and throughout the University.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in higher education/student affairs administration, counseling, business & technology management, psychology, human resources or related fields.
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant experience in employer relations, recruiting, career development, operations management, counseling, human resources, program development, project management, relationship management and planning small/mid-scale events and supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Industry recruitment experience, career services or employer relations experience in an academic environment with STEM students or employers preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position requires excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. This position also requires knowledge of career coaching best practices and STEM-oriented employment options and hiring trends. Ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels. Highly organized. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media tools is required.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with STEM-focused employment such as engineering, technology, urban planning, life sciences, business, and nonprofit/government consulting is preferred. Familiarity with Handshake, Symplicity, Brazen or other relationship management databases is a plus.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
