Position Summary

Leading with humanity, values-based leadership, and an insatiable sense of curiosity, the selected candidate will aim to secure gifts at the top end of the major gifts team pyramid, often representing over half of the team’s overall fundraising success, including those contributions in the $500K - $10M multi-annual level. With an eye toward blended solicitations involving immediate-impact fiscal support, gift planning vehicles, and potential for complicated asset involvement, s/he will also prioritize a portfolio of prospects and develop appropriate strategies to inspire aspirational philanthropy; and collaborate with alumni and annual giving teams to develop programs that engage, inspire, and motivate major gift donors. Solicit gifts through face-to-face visits and direct/individual Zoom, phone, and email solicitations.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
7+ years relevant experience. Experience in fundraising, and cultivation and stewardship of donors preferred; however, apt transferable experience is welcome.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Insatiable sense of curiosity, growth mindset, highest degree of integrity, and humility. Strong writing, public speaking, interpersonal/organizational skills, empathy and compassion. Demonstrated ability to conduct professional presentations via phone and in person. Ability to take initiative and collaborate exceedingly well with others.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel), Google (Docs and Drive), and business messaging apps, such as Slack.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 to USD $190,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
