The Program & Events Administrator will provide high-quality event planning and operational support to the Office of the Dean. Manage and coordinate all aspects of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events from concept through to brief, ideation, and event execution. Plan large-scale and multi-department events such as conferences, symposia, and workshops; advise on ideas for events, catering options, space, and staffing needs. This position will also manage an event budget and provide financial oversight. Develop policies an procedures for organizing and planning events. Assess and recommend changes to Tandon's protocols to optimize project efficiency.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area
Required Experience:
3+ years experience with event management, operations, managing budgets, supervision and process improvement or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with technology including organizing large and small hybrid meetings meetings and webinars, Box, Google suite, Microsoft Office. Strong customer service skills. Highly creative and analytical with the ability to develop new ideas based on the needs of the various events. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities with competing timelines. Ability to handle public contacts with courtesy, clarity and diplomacy. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with absolute discretion. Ability to take initiative and organize and complete projects with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience composing written communications and editing and proofreading material at an intermediate level. Familiarity with a complex research university environment and working in an academic unit. Ability to maintain calm and courteous demeanor and to work productively despite heavy workload, competing priorities, complex problems, and tight deadlines
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $83,600.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
