Position Summary

The Budget Manager is a key Tisch School of the Arts Budget Office member, leading various financial planning and reporting activities. Responsible for complex and interpretive financial analyses. Oversee a portfolio of operating and designated accounts. Coordinate interdepartmental payroll-related budgetary activities on an ongoing basis and serve as the primary customer service contact. Participate in personnel budget planning, the Annual Merit Increases (AMI) process, and prepare budget worksheets. Develop and implement internal controls, oversee compliance and create educational documents for the school. Reconcile internal expenditure records with organization reports; supervise adjustments and data corrections. Evaluate the processing of all payroll-related transactions. Liaise with University stakeholders on various matters that impact fiscal operations. Manage Staff.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Business/ Accounting; CPA.

Required Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated progressive accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a thorough knowledge of budget and finance best practices.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years of fiscal responsibilities in higher academia or non-profit

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent data management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Advanced Excel skills (including pivot and v-look up). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and advocate when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service, including responsive and timely follow-ups, as well as problem-solving complex issues and evaluating alternative solutions.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with Hyperion Planning, UDW+, FAME, Workday, other NYU-specific software, and database reporting tools such as Tableau.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $120,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
