Position Summary

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

The Associate Director, Special Stewardship will establish and manage a highly specialized stewardship program tailored to address the needs of a select group of university donors, including university trustees and select non-trustee donors whose breadth and depth of giving require high-touch customized stewardship. Ensure that the university nurtures and sustains strong long-term relationships with donors, inspiring additional support for NYU’s programs and priority initiatives. Serve as a key thought partner for strategic planning and activities related to NYU’s giving society. Partner with colleagues on UDAR’s special events team on the integration of event-related deliverables in the stewardship plans. Collaborate with colleagues on the Donor Relation and Stewardship (DRS) team on any required calibration of standard stewardship reporting (e.g., prioritized timing, personalized acknowledgement letters etc.). Partner with Stewardship leadership to assess the plan’s scope, necessary resources, and effectiveness on an ongoing basis, with the goal of expanding and enhancing the program in subsequent years.

UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
