Position Summary

The Identity Solutions Manager leads the Identity team responsible for NYU’s Single Sign-Ons, Directories, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) design, implementation, and management of the organization's identity and access management (IAM) integrations. The Identity Solutions Manager leads the global operation and availability of NYU’s application and system authentication. Partner with application and service owners to provide a high level of customer service, satisfaction, and timely deliverables by team members. Manage a team and ensure they provide a great user experience for the NYU Community including faculty, administration, students, alumni, affiliates, and federated institutions. Partner with schools and units and global campuses to ensure NYU’s SSO is utilized throughout applications and systems. Evaluate the current role management and lifecycle events practices and recommend opportunities for improvement based on identity standards and best practices. Enable application owners to make adjustments to roles based on the data provided. Serve as an escalation point for IaM services to help mitigate any issues brought to attention by clients.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in managing IAM systems

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Subject matter expertise with various Directories as example: Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory, OpenLDAP. Experience with MFA deployment and policy management. Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) SAML2 and OAuth2 integrations. Background in role management RBAC / ABAC. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience managing team of developers.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Previous working experience with cloud based directories and integrations for account and attribute synching. Shibboleth and WSO2 Identity Server experience. Duo MFA experience in large scale environment. Role management experience with Grouper, LDAP, AD, other systems. Previous work in Identity & Access Management. Knowledge of JIRA, ServiceNow for ticket and issue management.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 to USD $170,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
