Position Summary

The Manager, Transportation Services will manage and oversee the University’s approved transportation vendors in delivering services to the NYU community and serve as the primary liaison on contracts, communications, and any service-related issues, including the development, management and maintenance of schedules, routes and stops as it relates to University transportation shuttle, on-demand services, university VIP transports, and special high-priority university events (Commencement, Welcome Week, etc.). The incumbent will also have oversight of all departmental fleet functions, including but not limited to vehicle acquisitions and disposals, vehicle maintenance, and driver certification.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in planning, management, business or related field.

Required Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must include experience with fleet management, transportation management, scheduling, record keeping, budget management, and contract reconciliation.

Preferred Experience:
1+ years in Auxiliary/Campus Services and/or in a university environment.  Experience managing and supervising staff.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.  Demonstrated ability to be an effective team player while also working independently as needed. Excellent ability to solve problems and demonstrate proactivity when needed.  Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relations with staff, customers, and vendors. Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy regarding all matters. Must be available for on-call hours in case of emergencies. Travel may be required.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of shuttle/transportation industry software (such as Passio, Samsara, Fleetio). Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $105,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
