Position Summary

The Events and Operations Manager ill be the first point of contact for all events and catering inquiries mainly through Kimmel’s conference and events services web portal for all venues in the Campus Services portfolio. Establish and build external client relationships, and be able to strategize effective space allocation within the portfolio, seamlessly guiding the client through the event and catering creation and successful realization. Meet with clients to assess their needs and advise on space usage, egress, fire codes and overall schematics of events including staffing needs. Consult with clients throughout the planning process to ensure client satisfaction. Manage event production, daily building operations, and site management at the Kimmel & Global Centers. Act as a key point of contact on-site for Kimmel & Global Center employees, service providers, deliveries, contractors and vendors. Conduct regular meetings with in-house service providers. Hire, train and supervise events staff.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Required Experience:
3+ years event or building operation management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with building management and supervision.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a diverse population. Ability to prioritize and effectively manage the inflow of work assignments. Strong attention to detail and organizational skill. Proficiency with word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with scheduling software, event management, audio-visual equipment

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
