Position Summary

Manage day-to-day activity of Orthodontics clinic, ensuring patient care is delivered in a timely and appropriate manner. Meet with prospective patients/parents to discuss treatment fees, insurance coverage, and explain clinic operation and scheduling. Establish payment plans and payment contracts. Generate and analyze reports tracking patient flow, treatment billing, accuracy of new contracts, and errors in contracts/billings; and present findings and recommendations. Analyze income reports and prepare projections. Collaborate with dental students and faculty to resolve patient issues; authorize special payment arrangements and approve discounts. Supervise staff. Distribute and prioritize daily and/or weekly assignments and follow up if they have been implemented.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and

Required Experience:
3 years' relevant experience in a large dental (or medical) clinic operation and managing insurance submissions or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising office and/or clinic staff

Preferred Experience:
Experience in a large dental clinic operation. Experience with dental insurance rules and billing. Strong experience with orthodontic insurances, including Medicaid and managed care

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to train staff in use of customer service techniques. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Superior organizational skills and exceptional follow through/implementation skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with NYS public health law Article 28 and related health care protocols. Familiarity with orthodontic terminology and practice.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $67,183.83 to USD $82,113.57. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
